Hiya, I’m Stu.
I’m a Production VFX Supervisor.
My work’s taken me from helicopter stunts over the You Yangs, to water tanks in Malta, to the jungles of the Philippines.
Most recently I carried 800+ shots from prep to post on THE MONGOOSE (2026), the Liam Neeson action movie. Before that: on-set VFX supervision on the AACTA Award-winning BOY SWALLOWS UNIVERSE and APPLE CIDER VINEGAR, the Sundance-winning SHAYDA, NOT WITHOUT HOPE, PRISONER OF WAR, and the reboots of HEARTBREAK HIGH and THE OFFICE. But I’m just as proud of the many smaller jobs along the way.
I’ve been doing this for two decades, across every part of the pipeline — editor, coordinator, supervisor — and every kind of imagery: live action, 2D and 3D animation, miniatures, puppetry, motion control, motion graphics, virtual production, full CGI and machine-learning workflows. Features, television, commercials, and the ever-nebulous “content.” Fiction and factual and everything in between.
I’ve worked on, and managed, it all.
Working in animation layout on The Lego Movie and Happy Feet Two sharpened my eye for designing and staging shots; while my years in editorial taught me to shape sequences and manage the edit. I earned my set miles from the floor up — running cables as a camera assistant, fetching coffee as a PA. I’ve done the jobs, so I know how a crew works.
Underneath it all, I’m a massive story nerd — an AWG-nominated screenwriter, an ADG-nominated director, and for over a decade a co-host of the Draft Zero screenwriting podcast.
Because VFX isn’t just what an audience sees… it’s how it makes them feel.
